Garlic Parmesan String Beans

Trendy Eats Tip
Taste before adding extra salt. Parmesan, smoked Gouda, and Garlic Parmesan seasoning can all contain salt, so you may find that additional salt isn’t necessary.
Notes

1
Preheat the oven.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a large baking sheet or glass baking dish.
2. Prepare the string beans.
Wash the fresh string beans, trim the ends, and dry them thoroughly. Place them into a large mixing bowl.
3. Season.
Drizzle the beans with olive oil. Add garlic powder, onion powder, fresh garlic, Garlic Parmesan seasoning, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Toss well until the beans are evenly coated.
4. Prepare the topping.
In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan, smoked Gouda, and breadcrumbs. Add about 1 teaspoon olive oil and lightly toss. This will help the topping become golden and crisp.
5. Assemble.
Spread the seasoned string beans in an even layer on the baking sheet or glass baking dish. Sprinkle the Parmesan-Gouda breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top.
6. Bake.
Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, or until the string beans are tender with slightly roasted edges and the cheese is melted and golden. For a crispier top, broil for the final 1–2 minutes, watching closely so the breadcrumbs don’t burn.
7. Rest & serve.
Remove from the oven and allow the beans to rest for about 3 minutes before serving.
